Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Kelly Pentello and I am a fifth grade Language Arts teacher here at Big Walnut Intermediate School. I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8. I also have a Masters Degree in Education. This is my sixth year at Big Walnut but my eighteenth year teaching. I am thrilled to work with you all this year. I know it's going to be great! Course Description
Advanced Language Arts
Students in Advanced Language Arts will work on all of the same 5th-grade Ohio Learning Standards as the rest of the 5th-grade students but at a more in-depth and rigorous pace. These standards include: reading for literature, reading for information and writing with purpose while demonstrating the conventions of standard English grammar and usage, as well as vocabulary acquisition.
